ugh well i was going to upload pictures to this blog but for some reason it isn't working….frustrated alert.
oh well.
This week my team and I went to a place called Los Pinos. Los Pinos is a colony that all of the boys that live with Tony (our contact) are from. It's one of the most dangerous places in Tegucigalpa. Our ministry this week was to paint and clean Abuela's house inside and out. Literally this woman had like over 50 bags of stuff….of trash, clothes, dishes, and more trash. In three days we were able to get all of the house painted and cleaned out. (Look on FB for pictures).
Wednesday night we were on the way back home in Tony's car with Walter (A boy who lives at the property) and Ronaldo (the electriction/amigo). Tony already has had problems with his car in the past but that night after we finished our work and went grocery shopping the car breaks down. On top of that it's raining. On top of that we are in the middle of a decently busy road. Us gringas were sitting in the car while it started to drizzle rain. Tony informed us that the battery was dead and the car was going to have to be towed. At this point it is pouring rain and already dark. 30 or so minutes later when the tow truck came we all got out of the car and stood in the pouring rain. We walked to the nearest mall. Tony is blessed with many people in his life and he called up another North American missionary to give us a ride. Us three gringas, Walter, and Tony all went into Metro mall soaking wet with all of our grocerys. During all of this Tony was getting informed of many problems going on at home with the boys. But through it all he had a smile on his face and didn't complain at all. We all sat in the food court with wet hair and clothes, basically freezing just laughing about the whole situation. Oh but wait…that is'nt all….His North American friend picked us up about an hour later in his two person pick up truck……So Tony and the grocerys sat inside while Kaci, Laura, Walter, and I sat in the back of the truck..mind you it was still pouring…under a tarp….MEMORIES.
The next day we found out from Tony that the repairs were going to cost 1000 dollars.
So we had a little meeting and decided that we have really awesome supporters and if we each raised like 50 bucks we could fix those easily!
BUT THENNN we were like WAIT. If we all raised like 250 bucks we could buy Tony a BRAND NEW USED CAR….what a blessing that would be…
so watch this vid and if you feel lead PLEASE comment or email me and I can get  you all of the info!!!
