So, let me just remind everyone what my life is like right now.
My ministry daily is assistant teaching 2 and 3 year olds at a local crèche (preschool). I sing with them, sit with them, play with them, read with them, and all of the other fun things that you do with little kiddos. The teacher that I assist is so Spirit filled and I am able to have such awesome conversations with her about what God is doing in both of our lives. I come home, to a bed, hot showers, and home made meals that we as a team make. I am living in the most beautiful country I have ever been to. I can easily get a taxi to a train that takes me to beaches, the city, and so many cute towns in between. The weather is getting chilly, so I am able to comfortably wear jackets and jeans, etc.
But why? Why? Seriously, why?
This last month has been nothing but Jesus. His blessings, abundant. His provisions, overwhelming. His peace and joy, never ending. Having Easter here in South Africa at this exact point of my life really was like no other Easter I had experienced before. Not because I was in a different country or at Hillsong church or with new friends. But because of my heart. Because of how much more I understand and accept God’s love. It wasn’t just another holiday. Another Easter service. It was a time to think and reflect on the crazy things that Jesus has done for us.

I mean really. First of all, God sent HIS Son to come and die on a cross for us. For me. God created me. He didn’t have to, you know? But, He did. I am on this earth and walking and alive and healthy and laughing and being blessed. He continues to bless me now even after all of that. He continues to bless us. He will continue to bless us. WHYYYYY?

I was sitting on the couch last Friday after we had all watched The Passion of the Christ and I was just thinking….why…..Why would Jesus do that. Of all things He could have done why that? And why do we disobey Him? Why do we continue to sin and go against Him. Even when WE KNOW in our hearts all the He has done for us? What is wrong with us? Why does He still love and bless us? I couldn’t wrap my mind around it. I brought this question to my dad. I asked him “Dad, why would Jesus do that for us, like I really just don’t get it…” He told me that if I am ever fortunate enough to have a child that I will understand a little more. He said that when a child does dumb things and hurtful things, the parent does get frustrated. But they still do things for their kids. Because of love. Because that’s what mom and dads do. They love.
And we have a Father that loves us. It’s so simple. Love. So much love.
It’s easy to think that we here have it so easy and we are just living the dream. Which is true. And also which is why Satan continues attacking us. With lies and tiredness and lazy feelings and bad dreams. But God loves us. Why? I mean, I can’t really say. Because I don’t know. The only thing I can say is that He loves us. Something we have always heard and even known. But He calls us to love and BE loved. Once we can realize how much we are loved, we can begin to pour out that love. Through all of the physical blessings, I have been thrown into selfishness by Satan. But God loves us! He blesses us and he provides and he LOVES.

An update on my next step…Honduras!
Once again, God is moving in my plans to be back in Honduras in July. I booked my flight for July 17th! I have recently talked to a few contacts down there and God is opening up some really cool doors. I am now working on all of my fundraising materials and such. I am seriously getting so excited about what God has for me not only the remainder of my time here in ZA, but also my time at home. And of course for my time in Honduras!
